You need to be Lvl30 job upgrade to Summoner. There will be 1 out of 3 free summon for you. The others can purchase from magic shop. You right click to learn the summon. Each time you use summon, the summon will gain % for it's Lvl and you gain summon PT.

Healing summon will heal you from its own HP when your HP is not full. That's how it gain Lvl. The higher lvl will the summon, the more it can heal at once and summon will has more HP (much more than character).

Magic attack summon can help you kill your target to gain Lvl. The finish blow will get him more experience. It will become higher attack power and more HP as Lvl goes higher.

Defend summon are pretty useless, it has high defense and very low melee attack. But it's can tank the mobs while you nuke the magic at behind.

No, i believe that the summoner job can only be achieved by coming from the spiritualist class.

If you choose to be a warrior, you will not be able to summon.

Please correct me if im wrong ^^.

you CAN change to summoner even if you are a cora warrior class, but there is a PT penalty (the cap is lower - so you are generally weaker). You will also not be able to use the summoner skills at level 40 job change. HP is generally lower as well

Yup...I myself am a Warrior > Summoner. Though I wish I was a mage type so my magic would be stronger (I quit playing as warrior...and only use magic now). The summons look really cool but are not very useful in PvP. They have a few good uses when fighting native monsters though.

If I could start all over I would go Mage > Caster.

Great =D so I'm not the only one lol

I'm planning on moving over to US/UK version when it arrives in 2006 so I have a chance to start over and set things right :)

Nope...only summoners can use summons :p

Casters are far more effective though, but I say that because I have yet to acquire the 4th (and most powerful) Cora summon. It wasn't available during beta.
