I haven't read to much about the character customization options for this game. When creating a character, how many options do you have. Are there pre-canned characters to choose from, or does it offer a variety of cosmetic choices (ie: hair color, nose length, eye size etc...)

It is not very customisable (especially for accretians since new armour is actually new body parts). You basically get to choose a face style and hair style.

You also get to choose body, legs, feet and gloves clothes but these are covered by armour so you don't get to see them anyway.

Actually i think this is good, because people can`t compensate bad names with a character customization. If ur good at creating names its all you need to create a unique char.. thats my oppinion.

Not too much customization but I prefer it this way. You are a soldier in an army afterall, so a "unique" look should be out of the question. The more uniform it is, the more authentic it feels.

It's too bad they don't offer that many customization options for this game.

If anyone has been spoiled by the design engine Star Wars Galaxies uses than you may understand why having a variety of "unique" players compliments the game play (maybe just from a role-playing standpoint?). In SWG it was quite possible to design a character who looked identical to your real life portrayal... height, weight, skin color, and facial appearance.

yea, i was hoping that they could atleast have had hair color and skin tone. that'll make a lot of difference and add uniqueness to your character. ^^

@TAIKO:
As i said in an other thread before i didn`t like the char customization in SWG that much because after i saw the forth white wookie and another fat fishie i thought that this doesn`t add positively to the atmosphere ^^ . In an MMORPG there can`t be 5k unique (!) people. It`s like in reallife. The peops we meet on daily basis are most probably not white wookies or fat fishies. I think people should distinguish themselves from others in what they are doing or in what they affort. Of course that could also be a very cheap excuse but think about it. In another MMORPG i played every weapon looked awesome. In fact that was bad, because the high lvl weapons weren`t that special anymore. Normally highlvl stuff is supposed to look cool and different from low lvl junk so that everyone could see on first sight that this is a veteran player...
just my 2 cents^^
