I leveled a character in the jRFO beta to level 22, and never really knew what was in the higher levels (and most of what was in my current level since I couldn't understand half of what i was reading). From what I saw though..RF is seems like a typical korean grind fest MMO.

Yes, there are those little "quests" you get every few levels to kill different creatures, but those aren't really what i'd call quests...There's no story to speak of...only real hook they have is the 8 hour war, and I could see how that would get old pretty quickly.

So for those who have played a bit more than I have, do I have something to look forward to besides grinding? Will there be a story, crafting, questing, etc?

One thing I DID like, was that you can level up different weapons and armors, even though you may be a class that doesn't specialize in them. However, I read that they're doing away with this in upcoming patches. This true?

Thanks,

no? it's just grind grind grind, get to lvl 30. get mech/summon/cannon, crush other races, more grinding, afk mining, some more grinding, job change at 40, then more grind to get ultracool l337 armor for the purpose of ! more grinding.

that's basically it :D

some have quests that are actually worth doing, missions to further story line, etc... like FFXI, there's something else to do other than leveling. like wasting your time fishing :D

the quests on RF however is like... kill xx number of ugly faced spiders, get drop.

Read through the quests instead of skipping through them. Browse your journal and see how your character has progressed..in the story. It's actually fun if you understand the reason why you're killing Queen Crooks and roaming around the Map for hours on the hunt for Siar Blidends.

You can also waste your time Mining. We can't fish because the Fish walked and became ugly. Why mine? It's for Talics and Power.

There are other things to do while grinding...have fun, drink, talk about stuff...in short..if you're a loner...you'd get bored all too easily. Mingle and interact with the other players. That's what an MMORPG is all about.

Some ppl miss the point of MMORPG.
What it's the feature that distincts it from normal rpg or just a single
player computer game is it's massivenes = interaction with others , pvp. Both features are great and should be main reasons for you
to stay. Still, it's just a game so it's not possible for it to go beyond
some certain things. Grind , lvling , get items and fight. yes.
Find something more interesting than that, possible to achieve
through IT coding and you gonna become a millionaire. If you
can't come up with anything new, just play and stop yelling ;-)
