Hello! First off grats on the site, it looks great ^^ I thought I'd post some stuff that might be interesting for those looking to play Level-Up's version of RFO, seeing how its looming ever closer. I can't wait!

Payment Scheme
95% of MMO payments are done through pre-paid cards. Standard is around P300 = one month unlimited game time, where $1 = P56 roughly. Payment thru credit card isn't really supported.

Beta Wipe?
Like I posted in the other thread, Philippine game companies don't really wipe after beta as a rule of thumb. Mostly because the players complain and hold in-game rallies against the wipe (Filipinos like rallying  ).

IP Bans
Usually some time after going live, the game company bans all foreign IPs. LUG has done so for Ragnarok, and the local versions of MU and Gunbound are like that too. It doesn't seem to stop the determined though, cause I still see foreigners playing local games.

Community
Everyone can speak at least passable English  Beware kill-stealers and beggars though, they abound. I really hope RFO has some kind of anti-ninja system implemented.

Abstracts
Local games like temporarily doubling and tripling exp and drop rates when releasing new games / launching new servers. Not always, but most of the time. If you did this in international games the community would be screaming bloody murder I think (ZOMG dps classes level too fast, get all loots, balance pls!), but in the Philippines its generally accepted.

Interesting points sender, just thought I'd like to add my 2c.

Payment Scheme - mmm... right now, no comment. But chances are it's going to be via prepaid cards, like you said.

Beta Wipe? We'll be anouncing this soon. (Or rather, when I get authorized to release the info, I'll let you know.)

IP Bans. Well we have a territorial arrangement with CCR Inc. So we won't be able to support non-Philippine players once we go into paid service. But while the game is in Beta, RF Basers are welcome to try it out. Think of it as a sneak peak of what may be coming to your country soon!

Community - Unfortunately, Sender's description is accurate. Especially the beggars. It seems to be a cultural thing. Be prepared to say "NO" a lot of times.

Drop/EXP Rate - Well it's really too early to say at this point, but let me just say that Level Up will not be treating RF Online in the same manner as Ragnarok Online. We've learned a lot of lessons in managing MMOGs over the 2 odd years we've been handling that game. And we're ready to apply everything we learned to make Philippine RF Online the best MMOG in the Philippines.

Wait, $6 to play for a MONTH unlimited?

PLEASE let me pay for the philipine servers!

if that was the price I could stay active in 2 or even 3 MMOs easily, MMO prices here in the US are WAY too high imho.

Unfortunately since LU! has a territorial agreement foreign IPs are banned shortly after commercial release.

I do hope so.... Although I am still actively playing pRO nothing much to do when you're 99, I plan to shift to pRF when it comes out. I just hope that Level Up will really do a better job for this game.

Kill-stealers ruined that game for me, made leveling a chore and an aggravation :ew: Playing WOW now, but RFO will be my local game ^^ And every time I blast an elf I'll imagine it was someone called LeGOLaS777 from Clock Tower

Heritage patch = massive unbalance = massive whining...dont ask just trust me :angel?:

about the $6 a month thing. Its more of comparing the rates with local costs as well as local market accpetable prices. In the US, $15 seems to be the standard flat rate of MMO subscriptions, which im guessing is based parallel to your country's standard cost of living with wages etc. The same applies here (i guess) its just that, ours are at much lower rates.

And i agree, KS, Loot, Hack, Bot, Scam, Beggars, Grievers all contribute to a crappy MMO that isnt worth $1 a month. So if LuG can keep these elements out, or at the least minimize em, ill be glad to shell out 300 schmacers every month (because a mech is worth it :y: )
