Question about armor and magic

Ok I'm almost lvl 13 which means its about time to branch off and pick an armor besides the newbie stuff. I'm playing Accretia by the way. I've found a couple of different peices of the lvl 13 armor and it turns out that they have the same lvl requirements and thats it, besides the armor differential. As a ranged class, can I wear the heavier armor that provides better protection, or am I better off wearing the lighter armor? Does it provide bonuses if I wear light armor or do I concur a penalty for wearing heavy?

Oh by the way, is there anyway for fighter/ranged classes to use magic? I've heard some people say that you could buy magic skills and I'd like to use some, or is it mage only? (Or are the accretians just plain SOL)

If i remember rightly from Korean Beta Ranger armour increases your attack speed with a ranged weapon but... could be wrong. Easy way to test it is remove your armour and apply it one by one and check your stats.

All the class can learn magic, you just have to buy mage weapon and skill to use them (it did works in korean version at least )

Some player were making "dual class", mean they start warrior and become mage, it give you a mage with high hp but it take more time to build the character
