PT Training can be a daunting task, especially when youre over 30.
But hopefully here are some tips to make your life (a little) easier.
(Note: All PTing was done by a Bellato specialist. Your milage may vary per class, and there are probably good ways to level up some PTs better than others [i.e. Millers mobbing lots of enemies to up def PT] but this small guide will give you a general overlook of what monsters to look for and some little tips that might save you some time). While there are some ways that others may think would be better, these are simply based on my own experience in PT training.
Before I begin, there are times where you may want to stay at a particular level for PT training. One technique(?) to do this is to Level Down. While you are not actually leveling down (impossible) you are delaying your level by loosing some of your current levels XP. This is done by simply dying. The XP you lose is random, so far ive encountered anywhere from less that 1% to a full blown 10% (some say 30%). The reason why you may want to do this is because you may want to take advantage of PTing at certain levels (like 30) as they give you some benefits.
Anyway, here we go:
Level 30 : Hellers/Helkins. Very Good drop rate thus staying at 30 (where you actually have alot of PT to train) is a good idea. Not to mention they drop level 35 items, so you may want to keep armor sets and weapons so that you have something to wear @ 35. Good for you if you get intense drops! Good level to PT at as it is actually very profitable
Level 31: Armed Ghosts. Poorish drop rates. Youll basically just grind through this one. Drops level 37 armors.
Level 32. Robust Lavas. Same as Ghosts.
Level 33. Grumble Mauls/Owls or Queen Crooks. It seems the Queen Crooks have about an average drop rate, better than the grumbles, so you may want to stick with those. Both mobs drop level 39 armors, so collect those.
Level 34. Power Level. What do i mean? Simply find a party and power level this level. Now if you want to PT train through this, its fine, but i suggest you power level to 35 simply because you are one level away from new armors and (more importatnly) that shiney new intense level 35 weapon you got as a drop (you did slay a bucketload of helkins/hellers, didnt you?).
Level 35. Meat Clods/Chilos. Poorish drop rate. Drops level 41 items.
Level 36. Brutals. Why not power level to 37 you say? Simply because with decent equipment, you can still PT train at this level using only 1K HP pots. This will save you tons of money as you are using the cheaper 1k HP pot over the 2k HP pot.
At this point, these are mere theories and rationalizations as I myself havent reached this level. However using RF guides, experience and logic, I can at least give a general idea how to PT for the following levels. I will update this as soon as i get to these levels.
Level 37. Vafer Rex/Snatcher Rex. Why going ahead to a high level monster? Well at this point in time, you really will have to switch to 2k pots. RFO has no decent level 42 monster so its better to go to the Rexes asap. Mater is an ACE, and ACES are a nono to PTing (ill explain later). Spell Laz's are in a hostile zone (well more hostile than settlements anyway) and not to mention, according to my calculations, a monster which is 7 levels higher than you will give you a better output of 20pt xp per hit rather than the (average and should be strived for) 16pt xp. Now since youll be using 2k pots at this point anyway, you might as well get the most pt xp per 2k pot.
Level 38-39. Vafer/Snatcher Rex. Basically the same as above. However you MIGHT want to PL through 39 for the very same reasons as PLing through 34 (minus new armor, but you do get a new spanky class with new shiney abilities).
PhRFO still has a level 39 cap so ill end this here for now. Hopefully i can find the time later to update this.
Some tips: Some classes will be able to benefit from PLing at certain stages. While PLing isnt generally a good thing, PT isnt everything either. A decently PTed level 35 warrior will still have an advantage over a maxed PT level 30 warrior. Try to feel your class and see at which point it is good to PL so that you are not overly left behind equipment wise. Some say a good way to do it is PT, PL, PT, PL and so on, for example PT through 31, PL @ 32, PT @ 33, PL @ 34 and so on.
A good way for a Spiritualist to EASILY and CHEAPLY up his/her shield and/or def PT (for bellato anyway) is to exploit the HEAL spell. Once you have access to MID tier HOLY spells, use the HEAL spell to your advantage. Simply get a monster (preferably one that gives you 16pt xp per hit) that has a damage equal to or less than your heal, equip a low damage weapon (something that does 1 damage or even better MISS damage), a shield (if preffered), then buy a bagfull of the cheapest blue pots, then jam a coin or piece of paper into the hotkeys of both your blue pots and heal. See if it works out for you Very Happy
Anyways thats all for now, if there are any errors, better tips, or whatnot, feel free to add your own opinions.
Oh, and why is it bad to PT with ACES? Simply because they dont die as fast thus less drops, and you have to do over 250 (from my experience) damage to get PT xp from them, which is actually pretty hard to do. So it is (almost) always better to stick to non ACE monsters when PT training.
EDIT: On a side note, I am not 100% sure about other races (cora/acc) but im pretty sure you have the same monsters in your own territories. If you feel that there are monsters that are better for PTing in your own lands, then please say so ^^
