First off i'd like to say that this is my first guide ever for any game so please bare with mistakes and such. I will update this guide/make a new one, as I find out more useful stuff that I think people playing Cora need to be aware of.

Gameplay Basics & Useful goodies

1, Map. After you create your character, the thing you probably would like the most is a map. To get your minimap up, press "M", and you will see a full map of the Cora zone. The little "+" things I have marked on the map are clickable, and will let you view a more detailed map of that location, I.E for towns.

2, Useful shortkeys. Okay, I will not write a guide on how to equip your character and how to make your character move around and so on, this guide is mostly extras and useful stuff, most of the basics are learned by SarGara's guide already. Here are some useful shortkeys I learned throughout the game:

"I" = Open inventory
"K" = Get a very cool view on your character and surroundings from high above.
"B" = Open up buddylist
"[TAB]" = Scroll through your hotbars
"S" = Open up skillwindow
And the most important one, atleast for rangers:
[SPACEBAR] = Pick up nearest item/attack selected target.
The reason you want to use this button alot is because as a ranger, you need to KITE. Kiting is a hit and run tactic, you hit the monster, run backwards until your bow is charged for another shot, hit spacebar to hit it again and repeat.

Item & Upgrading

If you want to upgrade an item, you need three things:

1. Item with upgrade slot(s)
2. Item-upgrader
3. One of the five avalible Gems (different elements I belive and drop only)

This picture shows what an Item that has upgrade options looks like. Those 3 empty leaf-looking slots are slots for upgrading. Three empty slots = Three upgrades.(I think)
So far I haven't found any Gems, as I heard they are very rare to find, and I suggest that if you find a gem, keep it until later levels to upgrade(mid 20s maybe?)

Upgrading your item

The location I have marked on the map is the location to buy additional backpacks (cost about 22k) and the itemupgrader + alot of other stuff I haven't figured out yet. (The backpack is at the very upper right when you enter the shop, the itemupgrader is just left of the backpack.)

First you rightclick on the itemupgrader, then you put in your item with slots to the middle, then you place a gem in the fitting gemslot, then you click the middle button to upgrade. After that I don't know what happens, since I havent found any gems! :furious:

The small icons on the minimap shows where all the shops are in that town. Pretty selfexplaned, weapon icons are for weaponshops, armoricons = armorshops and so on.

Buying magic skills

You can buy new magic skills for a high sum of money (cheapest ones go for around 56k)
But the ones you buy won't enable you to level them to 'master' level and enable Summons (some taiwanese guy explained that to me, but I forgot what he said exactly)

I have marked the two best ones for a Ranger to buy if you get extra cash. (I haven't tried them myself, but the taiwanese guy recommended those two for Rangers, I don't know what all the other magic skills does)

Skill number 1 = Transfer HP to FP (Mana)
Skill number 2 = Decrease time to re-use a skill

In my experience, those two skills probably come more in handy at level 20ish, but if you buy them earlier you can level them up earlier, to have them at a good level when you really need skills such as those.

Level up your weapons

Simple as topic says. Improve the level of your weaponskills by using that weapon-type. One handed/Ranged/Two-handed and so on. By improving the level of a weapontype, you increase your damage and accuracy with that weapontype.

Skills

As SarGara writes in his guide, the way you level up your skills is to use them. As you use your skills, they get experiencepoints and level up. Also, when using skills, you get Familiarity points, and you need 30 Familiarity points to get access to the Tier 2 skills. I have marked where the familiarity points are in the screenshot. They level up very slowly, and in that screenshot I am level 10 with only 8 familiarity points, and I have been using skills since level 1. Although I started using skills 100% frequently at level 6.

Tips

1. Always bring more manapotions than HP potions as a ranger, when you are kiting mobs you will barely lose any hp. Make sure you use double shot and both auras all the time, to level your skills and familiarity points. Don't be cheap with the MP pots, it will pay off in the end.

2. Always hunt mobs with atleast 2 bars or more, for best experience.

3. The quests are easy enough, I did all of them up to level 12 without trouble, it's really easy to know which mob to fight, I was always fighting just that mob when I received the quest. You will know you are killing the right mob when some taiwanese letter and a "1/5" thing pops up after you killed it. Meaning you have killed one out of five questmobs. (The level 10 quest is in the cave, the red bats.)

4. AURAS = ON, Always.

5. Get another bag as soon as you can, sometime at level 10-15. As a ranger you NEED another bag to put arrows in, your first bag will get full by items when you hunt in no time.

6. If you see a Bossmob....

Nice guide dude, i got a gem from a lv 10 someting mob, havent tried it yet tho. I might add using a skill adds .50% to that skills exp, in other words you need to use a skills 200 times to lv it up. for me that took to lv 9 using the same skill all the time from lv 4. :y:

Hey Xodic VERY nice guide.

My only tip is how about using Paints "Text" option instead of trying to draw the words on using the pencil tool? It makes it clearer to read that way.

Apart from that, well done! :y:

Nice guide!

1 thing i think should be noted for new rangers (this would've saved me some time/frustration earlier today):

edit: i'm retarded

first arrows = all bows
second arrows = all crossbows
