The above highlighted icons are all seperate download locations, seven in total. Just try them all until you find one with a speed you are happy with.

Installing

Ok so now you've downloaded the .rar so just extract using WinRaR to where-ever you want. Open CD1 and double click \"RFonline(Alpha).part1.exe\".



You will get that half way through installation, just use "Browse" to locate the .exe inside the CD2 folder.

Patching

**** YOU MUST CHANGE NON-UNICODE TO CHINESE (TAIWAN) VIA CONTROL PANEL>REGIONAL AND LANGUAGE>ADVANCED ****

If you dont change the language your client cannot complete updating and gets stuck in a "you need to restart client" loop everytime you re-open it.
Open the folder you just extracted to, and run RF.exe



Give it a few moments to connect and start patching, when the white bars accross the top start moving you know its doing its job.

It will patch and ask you to restart the client a couple of times.

The error with the ????? is usually because you havent set your Regional Settings in the advanced options to Chinese (Taiwan) - you NEED to do this, and its in the guide above. - This error come usually after the two patch bars at the top flash over once then you receive the ????? error clicking it will close the RFOnline Patcher, and this will just repeat untill you change your regional options.

I dont think you can download the patch on its own to my knowledge, i dont think its too big either.

nevermind i said anything... looks like i can't play due to restrictiong set on the computer i'm using by certain people, and i went through all the trouble of getting an account, too :-(

i don't have "chinese (taiwan)" under regional settings. I'm using a slipstreamed version of windows so I guess they haf remove moz of the chinese language packs.

Maybe I can try downloading it off the microsoft site?
is that possible?

i still get the ????? error even though i set the language settings correctly, plus i tried using the applocate program, even that didnt work

anyone have any idea on what might work?

edit:

i put the pc settings to chinese as well and it started patching, but now after about half a minute of patching it started giving the same error again, and keeps giving it now without patching anymore again

kinda starting to think its hopeless...
